Jon has served as a partner at two leading international firms, most recently leading the Global Mining & Metals Practice and Canadian Industrial Sector at Russell Reynolds Associates.  Based in Toronto, Jon works with clients in all major business centres internationally.  His practice focuses on board and senior executive search, assessment and leadership advisory projects in the mining & metals, energy, infrastructure and other related asset-intensive global industries.  Jon has also developed a deep expertise in the functional areas of operations, capital projects and other senior technical roles.  Jon now leads, Jon Martin & Associates, advising boards of directors and C-suite decision makers on leadership selection and succession in the global industrial & natural resources sector.

Before joining the executive search profession, Jon worked in the Marketing & Strategy and International Trade Advisory Services practices of Ernst & Young Management Consultants in Toronto. He started his professional career in the Corporate Development Office of Imasco Ltd. in Montreal.

 

Jon received his MA in international relations (international economics) from The Johns Hopkins University’s Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in Washington, D.C., where his thesis focused on Canadian-American trade relations. He also has a BA (Hons) from Huron College, The University of Western Ontario.
