Board Renewal is a major theme in the resources sector. Investors are increasingly applying non-financial measures (ESG) and there is ongoing scrutiny and challenge to board room appointments in the sector. This paper from our Associates, JMA in Toronto illustrates that new directors in mining are generally getting younger and more diverse; though industry expertise is still highly valued and geographic representation doesn't always reflect the wide footprint of the sector. An interesting snapshot supported by much of our work in the sector at LSA.
